SSI Freediving Instructor Courses

SSI Freediver Assistant Instructor is your first step toward a career in freediving. Once certified, you will be able to teach the Snorkel Diver, Try Freediving, Basic Freediver, and Pool Freediver courses, plus the upgrade options to the most popular pool freediving specialties and more

Pre-requisite:
Freediver (or equivalent), Basic Freediving Instructor

Performance requirements to pass SSI Freediver Assistant Instructor:
– Dynamic Rescue Tow 50m (164ft)
– DYNB 50m (164ft)
– STA 2’30”

SSI Basic Freediving Instructor help others learn to freedive with the Snorkel Diver, Try Freediving, and Basic Freediver courses. Once you get comfortable teaching the basics of freediving, take the next step to advance your freediving instructor career. 

Pre-requisite:
Assistant Instructor (Recreational Scuba)

Performance requirements to pass SSI Basic Freediving Instructor:
– Dynamic Rescue Tow

Pre-requisite:
Advanced Freediver (or equivalent), Basic Freediving Instructor

Performance requirements to pass Freediving Instructor:
– CWTB & FIM 30m
– Rescue 15m + Surface Tow 50m
– DYNB 60m
– STA 3’00”
– Blackout Rescue 15m
– 5x15m CWT with 1 minute rests

Pre-requisite:
Performance Freediver (or equivalent) & Freediving Instructor

Performance requirements to pass Advanced Freediving Instructor:
– CWTB & FIM 40m
– Rescue 20m + Surface Tow 50m
– DYNB 85m
– STA 4’00”
– Blackout Rescue 20m
– 5x20m CWT with 1 minute rests

Pre-requisite:
Performance Freediver (or equivalent) & Advanced Freediving Instructor

Performance requirements to pass Advanced Freediving Instructor:
– CWTB & FIM 40m
– Rescue 25m + Surface Tow 50m
– DYNB 100m
– STA 4’00”
– Dive Line Pull Rescue 25m
– FRC Dive 25m
